SUPPORTING CAST
Auditions and faq’s:
AUDITION INFORMATION:
Saturday, July 27th (at SCBD)
Ages 5-7 10:00-10:45
Ages 8-12 11:00-12:00
Ages 13-21 12:30-1:30
Guys’ audition ages 13-21 2:00-3:00 (families, get brothers to audition… it’s fun!)
COST
Audition fee: $15 (due week before audition, July 20th)

Supporting Cast fee: $105
-We will aim to publish the cast list by August 10th, and Supporting Cast fees will be due 2 days later on August 12th.
Ticket requirement:
-The year, Supporting Cast are required to purchase (and then resell) 12 standard tickets at a special initial price of $20/ticket ($240)
-2nd student in Supporting Cast (siblings) would only be 4 additional tickets required ($80)
-(3 or more children in supporting cast? Only your first 2 would have a ticket requirement, and the third does not.)
-(Have a student(s) in Youth Company? Your first supporting cast dancer starts as “2nd student” for Supporting Cast… only 4 tickets.)
-Payment for ticket requirement due September 1st.

The only additional costs you would need to plan for are purchasing things your child needs for their costume (specific colored leotard, tights, shoes, etc)
REHEARSAL SCHEDULE
Most supporting cast roles will begin rehearsals mid-end of September.
September rehearsal schedule will be published at the end of August.
Supporting Cast rehearsals are generally on Saturdays (some specific roles will be/also be on Fridays)

-Missing more than 3 rehearsals (except for sickness or of course a family emergency) without the Director’s permission is cause for recasting or dismissal from the supporting cast. Rehearsals must be a priority. :)
-Must notify Director by email, if need to miss rehearsal for sickness... and to request to be excused from a rehearsal for reasons other than sickness/emergency, you/your parent must email Director for approval.
-Supporting Cast dancers are required to be diligent to be responsible to study and work hard on their roles (we provide rehearsal videos for students to practice with/study outside of rehearsal time, to help them know their parts very quickly).
HOW TO SIGN UP FOR AUDITIONS:
Click the button (above) to register for auditions! (Registering for auditions will be like registering for a class. Look for “Nutcracker 2024 Supporting Cast Audition” in the list of our classes… and please be sure to select the one that reflects your student’s age bracket.)
Already enrolled at SCBD? You can quickly sign up for auditions through your parent portal. :)
